LifeSafer FC100

Specifications

National Interlock currently uses the LifeSafer SC100 and the LifeSafer FC100. The FC100 utilizes Electro-Chemical fuel cell technology which means that it is Alcohol Specific. This translates to fewer false positive readings.

LifeSafer interlocks are used in over 50% of ALL interlock programs and to date are the most widely used interlocks in the United States. Every day more LifeSafer interlocks are installed than ALL other brands combined!

The reason for their popularity is simple. LifeSafer interlocks have an outstanding reputation for their technological advancements and National Interlock has a reputation, throughout the United States, for our friendly and knowledgeable staff and dedication to the prevention of drinking and driving.

National Interlock primarily uses the LifeSafer FC100 version 1.05 because of the many features and benefits it provides. A few of the features that set the FC100 version 1.05 above others are: The ability of the alcohol sensor to only detect alcohol, Advanced anti-circumvention technology, Vehicle restarts, and a unique Warm-up time feature. These features are explained below.

Alcohol Specific Sensing Technology -
Earlier model interlocks used a semi-conductor alcohol sensor. This type of sensor will respond to hydro-carbons other than alcohol. The FC100 uses an electro-chemical alcohol sensor which is specific to alcohol.

Advanced Anti-Circumvention Features -
The FC100 can be programmed to require a hum tone while blowing into the interlock. This eliminates the ability of a person to use an artificial air source.

Vehicle Restarts -
The FC100 is programmed to allow the vehicle to be restarted, within a specified time frame, without retaking the breath test.

Warm-up Times -
The FC100 version 1.05 can be set to automatically be ready to accept a breath test when you enter your vehicle at certain times of the day. This means you can forego the short wait time that the interlock normally needs to get ready to accept a breath test.
